  1. What is CaCO3 Filler? Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is one of the most popular mineral fillers used in the plastics industry. It is widely available around the world, easy to grind or reduce to a specific particle size, compatible with a wide range of polymer resins and economical. As an additive in plastic compounds, CaCO3 helps decrease surface energy and provides opacity and surface gloss, which improves surface finish. In addition, when the particle size is carefully controlled, CaCO3 helps increase both impact strength and flexural modulus (stiffness). CaCO3 Filler (taical) is a compound of calcium carbonate, resin polymer (PE, PP, PS, ABS, etc.) and other dispersed additives (Zinc, acid steric, wax, oil). CaCO3 filler is milky white and has granular shape which is easy to use and mixed with different material. The mixing ration ranges from 5% to 50%, depending on final products requirements and production technology.
  2. Why should use CaCO3 filler masterbatch? In the past, fillers were used predominantly to cheapen end products, in which case they were called extenders. Among the 21 most important fillers, Calcium Carbonate holds the largest market volume and is mainly used in the plastics sector. Some prominent benefits of using CaCO3 filler can be seen such as: Cuts down plastic production costs by replacing a part of virgin polymer during extrusion, injection and blow molding; improves production conditions as well as a number of physical and chemical properties of finished plastic products; Decrease the deformation for contractibility of products and large loading due to its good dispersion and strong antioxygen and aging resistance, good anti pressure and reducing contractibility; Reduce shrinkage ratio of final products to improve size stability; Reduce fire heating quantity of plastic products to reduce second pollution; Reduce the application ratio of white color masterbatch due to natural white of CaCO3 (98%) (Vietnam, Malaysia); Remove the surface light from plastic products, to get sub-light effect.

  5. How to use CaCO3 Filler right? Mix CaCO3 Filler with the stuff resin from the ratio of 10% to more than 50% depending on different final products and production technology. The working machine temperature, if necessary, should be reduced 10-15 degree celsius when the Filler ratio is high (above 25%). Time of mixing filler and polymer stuffs should not be quite long, approximately 10 – 20%.
